Took my camera out today with me for the first time in ages.. popped along to Kelvingrove just in time to catch the Dumbartonshire Concert Band, had a quick look around again, popped into Montgomery’s for something to nibble on, and ended up watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” in the GFT.. a wonderful end to a beautiful day..

corruptibility, fate, technology and civil liberties, nietzche’s superman/Ubermensch (maybe?), game theory with boats, the nature of good and evil, heroism, redemptive violence.. it’s all in there… the kind of film where you can end up talking philosophy for a few hours afterwards once you take a step back out of the myth into the real world.

Having philosophical/theological education that was formed mostly in institutions like Cottiers and Uisge Beathe, I don’t think I’m anywhere grasping his whole concept.. but there’s certainly enough soundbites in this film to provoke a bit of thinking… well worth 70 minutes. Sometime soon i’ll watch it with a notebook and try and blog it a little bit more thoroughly..
